With Senior Celebration still fresh in the air, portfolio season in full swing, and prom and graduation just around the corner, this is the right moment to pause and reflect on what our students have accomplished this year. The college and career readiness work at Muñiz Academy has never been stronger, and the numbers tell a story worth sharing.
This year's senior class is heading to a wide range of colleges and universities, including some of the most selective institutions in New England. Among their destinations:
The breadth of this list reflects what we've always believed: that every student's path forward deserves to be honored, and that the right fit looks different for everyone.
Financial support is essential to making college a reality, and this year our students earned it.
These awards represent not just financial resources, but recognition of the hard work our students have put in year after year.
Dual enrollment remains one of the most powerful tools we have for giving students a genuine head start on higher education. This year's results are remarkable.
So far, 44 students have earned 282 college credits. Once spring grades are finalized, we expect that number to grow to approximately 55 students with college credits, roughly 23% of all 10th through 12th graders. Among them:
Currently, 4 students already hold more than 12 credits, including one with more than 24. That is real college momentum, built before graduation day.
Our Early College program enrolled 44 students this spring, and we're already planning for growth: an estimated 61 students will be enrolled next fall. This expansion reflects both the demand from students and families and the investment Muñiz Academy is making in pathways that matter.
All of this (the acceptances, the scholarships, the credits, the growing programs) is what our mission looks like in practice. Preparing every student for post-secondary success is not a slogan. It is the daily work of every teacher, advisor, and staff member in this building, and it is the effort of every student who showed up and kept going.
Congratulations to our seniors, our Muñiz Scholarship winners, and our valedictorian, Alexandra Cornejo, who represented this school with pride at the BPS Valedictorians Luncheon. The best is ahead of you.
